Goodbye Joe

We lost another great voice today with the passing of Joe Cocker. He died of lung cancer at his home here in Colorado where he has lived since the early 90’s. Joe had one of those rare distinctive voices. He did one of the best covers of a Beatles song I have ever heard of the song “With a Little Help From My Friends”. He won a Grammy in 1983 for his “Up Where We Belong” duet with Jennifer Warnes, it was the theme song to the movie “An Officer and A Gentleman”

For me this is has to be my favorite Joe Cocker song, a cover of Bryan Adam’s “When The Night Comes” When this song came out I played it over and over and over again. It became a top 20 hit for Joe in 1990.
