Its your first album so who do you get help from, how about a grammy nominated songwriter? While your at it how about support from Billy Joel’s rhythm section in the studio? thats exactly what Taylor Casey received for his debut self titled EP that is due out later this month.
In 2014, Taylor was living in New York City’s Greenwich Village and going to school at NYU studying songwriting with Grammy-nominated songwriter Larry Dvoskin. At NYU, his professor Larry Dvoskin was impressed with Taylor’s songwriting abilities and offered to produce and write with Taylor.
The EP was tracked live to tape at Excello Recording in Brooklyn, NY, and, in addition to Taylor on guitars, vocals, and harmonica, features musician such as Chuck Burgi of the Billy Joel Band on drums, Andy Cichon, of the Billy Joel band on bass, and Larry Dvoskin on organ and piano.
Having listened to several tracks from the EP, it is one I enjoyed. I have featured the song “If I Die Tomorrow” on Front Range Radio and will be airing another song from the EP on an upcoming show.
