I write today about an artist from here in CO Springs, Lee Ricks. He released his debut album UniversaLee last week. Now I will state up front, I am not a big Hip Hop fan, but I spoke with Lee Ricks last month and was impressed about a charity cause that he is involved in, Hip Hop 4 Shoes. He tries to raise money or seeks shoe donations to give to the homeless and less fortunate in Co Springs area. This song he wrote for his daughter, it is a good father to daughter song. These type of songs, I believe the artists show their softer side, their vulnerable side if you will. Regardless if the music is hip hop or not, I think the message is the same any father would say to their child.
