Nicky Barot learned to play guitar by ear at the early age of seven. He released his debut EP Me in 2012.
From his website bio: “In 2007, Nicky worked with producer Michael Binikos (LeAnn Rimes, Snoop Dogg) to write and record his first demo, “What Were You Thinking?” Nicky spent 2011 co-writing with songwriters Billy Austin (Thompson Square) Kenny Lamb (Justin Timberlake), Anthony Little (Tina Turner, Jessica Simpson), Dave Robbins (Eric Clapton) and Jason Deere (Lady Antebellum, LeAnn Rimes). In between recording sessions in Nashville and LA, Nicky found time to shoot a new music video and make his television debut in HBO’s Hung. Nicky was recognized for two songs as they were selected as finalists in the International Songwriting Competition. The first song “Me” was selected as a finalist in the Rock category and his song “Like There Never Was You” was selected as a finalist in the Adult Contemporary (AC) category.”
In listening to several tracks off the EP, I was impressed by the lyrics and the EP did not sound like a performers first release but someone who has released many albums. He has a strong, good voice. It was a EP that I enjoyed a lot.
