The Midnight Slander

Midnightslander runaway

Members of the group out of Ohio are scheduled to be my guest on Front Range Radio Sunday August 17th 9pm eastern. We will be talking about the groups upcoming debut album The Long Way Home scheduled for release in September 2014.

The group was founded in Charleston SC before relocating to Cleveland OH. Two friends and former band mates, Mike Gray (drums/keyboard) and Al Rodriguez (bass) road-tripped to Charleston to meet up with lead singer and guitarist, Dave Conner. In one weekend, The Open Road EP, the band’s first release, was written and recorded.

The group plays what they call “a mix of southern rock, piano pop, and funk that ensures for a great listen. Our music brings to light our many influences; from the lyrical storytelling of country, to melodies influenced by pop and rock, to danceable airtight grooves evolving from funk. We’ve managed to bring together the music, experiences, and stories of three people who only ever wanted to play for anyone who would listen”

If you are luck enough to live near the Cleveland area, you can catch the group at the House of Blues in Cleveland on August 30th as part of the Day & Night Music Festival.

Nice show tonight…..good interview….although I have to question the move from SC to OH….sun and blue skies….clouds and cold???? I know home is home and I hope they do well and the music is worth the move….
On another note…. I was on my way to the basement with a load of laundry and my daughter pointed out that it was time for FrontRange radio to start…it was cute…she remembered the name.
    Have a great week! 🙂
