Bop Skizzum is calling it quits

The Denver group Bop Skizzum is having a final show before calling it quits.  The show will be February 14th.  According to a message from Andy Rok:

“What I’ve learned most recently is that when it’s time to change, you have to embrace it. The current members of Bop Skizzum (myself included) have come so far as artists and people in the past few years, and we’ve decided it’s time to pursue our curiosities to their fullest and follow our own individual paths.”

The groups sound will be missed in the Denver and Colorado music scene.  Andy makes a great point in his message to the fans “If I had to leave you with one bit of advice, it’s to go to more shows. Be a part of your community. Not only will you make the best friends you’ll ever make, but you may find yourself inspired to make art of your own.” Very wise words indeed.

You can read my post I did in November 2013 about the group’s most recent CD Coloradical here

From their 2010 EP this is the title track “Beauty Queen”
