From sunny southern California, the three-man beach jam band as they call themselves, Dankrupt released their EP Chapter 11 Dankruptcy over the summer. The group describes the feel of EP on their website “The mood of this album was to make the listener feel like they were sitting at a beach or party just relaxing and loving life with good friends and great vibes.” I think they did a good job of capturing that feel. The imaginary the lyrics of “Truth in Disguise” create about a day at the ocean having a good time with ones friends, I couldn’t help but think back to a day I had at Santa Monica Beach. The reggae vibe of “Till the Mornin” was smooth and pleasing
Grant Bogorad, Tim Canton, and Tony Ward who make up the group, met at musicians institute in Hollywood CA. Tim and Grant created the band out of their shared love of reggae music and began writing songs in August of 2012. Grant writes a lot of the music for the band Tim is the drummer for the band. He co-writes with Grant and his approach to writing is more physical with rhythm and catchy melodies. Tony helps bring the sound to together on bass.
If you are looking for a fun EP to take you away to the beach, grab a Corona and put this on your mp3 player.
