Grand Old Grizzly, with their self titled CD that was released earlier this month. The group is out of Houston TX, and has been compared to Tom Petty, Uncle Tupelo, and Neil Young among others. Their music is best described as Americana, Folk, Country, Rock and AltCountry. The quartet is comprised of Will Thomas (vocals/guitar), Paul Beebe (guitar/vox), Mark Riddell (bass/vox), and Chris Lewis (drums).
I have been able to listen to a few songs off the album with “Tallahassee” being my favorite of the songs I have heard. “Tallahassee” is a rocking song about heartbreak on the road. “Marvelistic Coward Band” is a banjo driven song that pokes fun at self legends bands seem to create about themselves. It is a humorous song to say the least, and will have you thinking about the stories you have heard about your favorite band.
You can learn more about the group at http://www.grandoldgrizzly.com I will feature a couple of songs off the CD on Front Range Radio this coming Sunday.
