I saw a link to this group, and seeing as they were from Colorado I was naturally interested in them and wanted to hear their music. The group describes it music as “a unique mix of Original Americana ~ weaving elements of folk, country, pop and dark matter to create a tapestry of vivid palette and emotional songs that are danceable and catchy, yet possess a complex and contemplative lyricism and arrangement that assure even the most discriminating of songwriter aficionados’ appreciation.” The group is made up of singer/songwriters Giselle Collazo (voice, guitars, keys) and Steven Phoenix (voice and guitars) and joined by Miguel Ramos – violin/lap steel and keys; Paul Tedesco – double bass; Matt Lawlor – drums, voice and banjo, and Chad Granoff – lead guitar and mandolin
The song “Laughin & Cryin” sounds likes country music of yesteryear. The era of the likes of Loretta Lynn or Patsy Cline. A time when country music seemed to be simpler. Giselle Collazo’s voice drew me in on the song and the violin and guitars kept me listening. Two other songs I really enjoyed was “Bird for Every Song”and “Don’t Push Me Around”.
