What is Peace

Peace is described as freedom from disturbance.  Synonyms of the word are quiet, calm, tranquillity.

How do we achieve inner peace?  Many books and articles have been written to help us achieve inner peace, but can we learn how to achieve inner peace form a book or an article in a magazine?  Sure we might learn techniques to help us relax, try to de-stress our lives.  I don’t know, at least for myself, that I can find inner peace by reading a book.

Once we have achieved a certain level of inner peace, can we use that to make the world a better place?  Once we are happy with where we are in our life journey can we use that energy to help others?  So often it does not take a grand action to bring a smile to some one else, to bring a little sunshine into some one else’s life.

My challenge to myself is to find a little of that inner peace and to use that to bring a little joy in someone else’s life.  Hopefully by doing that a small domino effect can be started.  I can’t change the world, but maybe I change someone else’s world for a brief moment.
