You’re stranded in a foreign city for a day with no money and no friends. Where do you go; what do you do?
My first reaction would be to find a church. Most religions help the poor so I would seek out a church for assistance. Hopefully the minister, priest, rabbi, who ever would be able to speak a little English and could help me out. Let me make a phone call or send an email to someone so that I could get money and get back home.
If I could not find a church than maybe a newspaper office or radio/TV station. Somewhere where I might be able to get internet access to at least try to email someone for help. Now if this is a large city I am stranded in than my first choice would be to find the American Embassy.
I wonder how many churches have people coming to them seeking help to get back home? They probably get requests all the time so I wonder how they determine which ones are legitimate and which ones are not?
