Where have you gone my friend?

Why do we hardly talk anymore?
We went to high school together, we spent our weekends together, the summers.
After college we shared an apartment together for a couple of years.
How did we drift apart?
Was it the miles, the distance?
Was it life?
Is it to hard to pick up a phone, send an email?
No one is to blame, it just happened.
The calls became less frequent.
The commonality diminished.
The friendship seems to be a shell of what it was in the past.
Why do we hardly talk anymore?

  1. Kiwi says:

Reading things like this is so terrifying for me, terrifyingly true.

  2. OH I HATE it when this happens. I find I am usually the perpetrator. Moving all the time and disconnecting. Wonderful poem!
