Goodbye for now

We have talked, laughed, and shed some tears,
We ate, played and drank some beers,
No it’s time to head back west
We shall treasure these moments like all the rest
The holiday weekend flew by so fast
Just like all the other trips home in the past
The bags need to be packed and loaded onto the truck,
We will see everyone in May, the good Lord willing and a little luck.
Not for a holiday or birthday shall we meet
but for the accomplishment of a greater feat.
Until that time when we can reunite
We will have to resume visiting via Skype
