One of the joys of living in Colorado is the mountain scenery. Yes I know every state, country has its own beautiful scenery, but for me there is just something special about the Rocky Mountains I spent the day today off-roading. Basically taking my four-wheel drive vehicle and exploring some back road trails. Today’s destination was Argentine Pass and McClellan Mountain.
The weather was perfect, great blue sky, very little wind at the top of McClellan Mountain. The fall colors were starting to make their presence. What I like most about taking these trips is being able to see such great scenery that you just don’t get to see from the “main roads” Some of the best sites are just off the beaten path.
I basically have just discovered off-roading, when I purchased my Nissan Xterra last year. Knowing the vehicle had the capability to go off-roading as a “stock” vehicle (no modifications done such as lifts) I purchased a book detailing some of the trails in Colorado that one can take. I joined some off-road groups to learn the ins and outs of off-roading. I am now hooked. I wish I had discovered this earlier. The places one can go and the sights that are hidden it truly is spectacular. It is much like hiking in the woods, there is so much more out there to see once one leaves the main road.
