Can You Hear It?

With technology and “progress” some things fall to the way side.  Sounds that used to be a part of our every day life have also disappeared.  The syndicated “Bob and Tom” radio show discussed this topic many times so credit goes to them for this topic.  Here are just a few sounds that have disappeared from our lives.

The sound a record needle makes once it reaches the end of an album or when it hits a scratch.

The sound of a rotary dial phone.

The sound of a typewriter.

The sound of a VHS tape rewinding in a VCR or a cassette tape rewinding in a cassette player.

Kids riding bikes with baseball cards flapping between the spokes.

What other sounds have you noticed that are either a rarity or gone?  I welcome your additions to this list.
